A thief took advantage of a busy mom’s preoccupation and plucked her purse off her shoulder outside the Walgreen’s store at 2995 Ygnacio Valley Road Saturday.
The crime was reported at approximately 5:27 p.m., a black male approaching the victim from behind before returning to a white Mercedes that had pulled up behind the victim.
The 4-door vehicle was last seen heading in the direction of Concord, reportedly with at least four people aboard.
There were no immediate reports of any injury to the victim or child.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, 5’9″, with a medium build and a hoodie up and covering his mouth and lower face.
UPDATE: The Mercedes was spotted and tailed by various police agencies who pulled it over north of Benicia at 6:10 pm. The occupants were being detained as this was written.
