An offshore 6.6 temblor triggered a tsunami warning for the North Coast at 10:44 a.m. this morning. So far, we’ve not heard of any damage or if any wave made it ashore but we’re hoping farflung friends from up that way will check in if they’re able.

Various government sources who watch these things issued slightly conflicting messaging following the jolt – initially recorded at 6.6 Magnitude before it was upgraded.

Tsunami warnings sent to personal phones also jangled some nerves, though initial contact with coastal residents showed no imminent sign of an incoming wave.

  1. Boy ,some people sure panic! I ran into a lady today so worried that a tsunami was going to hit Walnut Creek! Walnut Creek!
I swear our society has become very weak emotionally. The least little thing goes wrong in life and they need a group hug.
