SHARE

Two people, one of them maintaining he had a gun, took a purse from a victim outside the Sports Basement, 1881 Ygnacio Valley Road, shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The female victim was uninjured. Initial reports were that she was approached by a black male subject who told her he had a weapon and demanded her purse. The man took the bag and got into a black Mercedes with a black female suspect waiting behind the wheel. The pair drove away and were not located by police.

No physical injuries were reported.

    • And look at that framing, the composition, the clarity… there’s a future in photography ahead for you, Jeff!

    • How is that photo helpful in any way? It could have been taken in any parking lot in the East Bay with a couple cops standing around. Shocking you couldn’t find the perps but we’re all probably safer that you didn’t interfere. Please give the real cops space to do their jobs and don’t add to what is already a jacked up situation. Just because you convince yourself you’re helping doesn’t mean you are.

          • While it is clear our readership expects the level of service of a fully staffed newsroom of old those days are long gone and we are a small squad committed to doing a lot with little. The photo was not manipulated in any way, the victims of a robbery were pointedly left out of the picture to prevent possible retaliation.

  1. I’m sure the perpetrators are safely back in Oakland. Once you’re through the tunnel, police do not chase and you’re free.

    • While true the local PDs don’t like to chase people in the tunnel for reasons that should be evident, they do have radios and dispatchers and they do alert LEOs on the Far Side and catches have been made…

  2. I guess there IS crime in Walnut Creek! Who would have thought? Since the local PD/SD does NOT report anything to the “crimemapping.com” website, I was thinking there was “no crime” up here! Las Vegas and Reno are the same way for some strange reason.
