A call from a neighbor brought Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters to the 2900 block of Bonnie Lane early Saturday, firefighters arriving to find the home engulfed in flame.
Crews reached the scene at 3:24 a.m. and were met by heavy smoke and flame from the structure. The scene was further complicated by the presence of downed live power lines and fire advancing into adjacent vegetation.
No injuries were reported. The homeowners were believed to have been away when the fire broke out.
Interesting. I am a nearby neighbor and there is only an older gentleman who lives there now. He’s likely at least 80 now. His wife passed a few years ago. I would be surprised why he wouldn’t be home in the middle of the night when the fire occurred. That at least means he was safe, so that’s a good thing.
