A News24/680 Roving Cameraman was working his beat Friday, prowling Walnut Creek’s cushiest joints and darkest alleys, trying to get a feel for which way the night was heading – and coming back with these shots of combative customers and slip-sliding sojourners.
Nighthawker Sean McDonough kept busy racing from incident to incident, capturing fisticuffs at a local bar, traffic, and crashes on city streets and freeways.
You never know what’s headed your way on Friday night.
So well-written, you have such a gift with words!
Thank you for reading! We do like them, and sometimes they line up in a pleasing way…
It ain’t always just singin’ in the rain.
Thank you for being out there Sean. Beautiful shots!
And do cops hate to be out and about dealing with ill-behaved people in the rain and the dark. A risk of ‘ resisting arrest’ possible. Stay safe out there LEO’s and EMT’s.
I love it when someone else uses the word fisticuffs!!!!
Best news team in the county.
Thank you kindly!

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away
It’s a simple poetic thought, really. You can go any which way with an interpretation, which is kind of the beauty of it.
First Black president. Progress toward racial equality. Oh! Oh! White backlash. Slippin’ away.
Progress toward theocratic rules on abortion, IVF, contraception. Oh! Oh! Better-half backlash. See it all slip-slidin’ away!
And God only knows
God makes his plan

We’re workin’ our jobs

Believe we’re gliding down the highway
When in fact we’re slip slidin’ away
