A man was arrested at Walnut Creek’s Palos Verdes mall early Wednesday after a victim reported an attempted robbery outside a bank at that location.
The victim contacted bank officials, who summoned police with a description of a – we have to be careful here – “elderly man” in his seventies believed responsible.
Officers arrived on the scene quickly and detained an individual for investigation, eventually taking him into custody on suspicion of robbery charges.
No weapon was reported used during the attempt.
Hooking and booking the elderly, nice work WCPD, exactly what I would have done.

Hey, watch it with the “elderly” slinging there, pahdnuh…
70 is the new 40… we’re told.
A “seasoned denizen” apprehended by the local constabulary. Nice work WCPD.
I am curious of how the reported attempt played out.
24/680,
Hey, I would have hooked up my own mother to boost my stats.

You do the crime, you do the time. Age is just a number….Im out of cliches.
Those spiraling Rossmoor HOA fees are driving homeowners to take desperate measures.
The elderly think they will be coddled in court, and they’re right.
