A 37-year-old Pittsburg man was found dead of stab wounds in Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Lane, early Saturday morning after his wife grew concerned that he had not returned home from his janitorial shift at the park.
Santiago Jacobo, 37, was found unconscious and unresponsive in the park’s main parking lot at approximately 4:50 a.m. Officers and medical personnel responded to the scene and determined Jacobo was deceased. Upon further examination, it was determined the man had sustained stab wounds.
Police said Jacobo was a member of the janitorial staff that had been working at the park late last night.
Pleasant Hill Police detectives are actively investigating this case. The suspect in this case is unknown at this time. Any person with information related to this crime is encouraged to contact the Pleasant Hill Police Investigations Bureau at (925) 288-4630.
Members of Jacobo’s family have been notified and are working with police investigators.
Condolences to his family.
It gets pretty sketch in there at night.
Terrible
RIP
So sad. Central Contra Costa County (Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek) used to be such a great place to live, however that is sadly no longer the case.
I live in Pleasant Hill and have for decades. To say that it’s no longer the case on how great it is is simply not true. Don’t be a fear monger.
I understand, and agree with David’s concern. A lot of us do have increasing fear. It’s not fear mongering, it’s a real feeling. Its disconcerting how many ‘bad guys’ are out there running around without consequences or restriction, seemingly waiting to pounce on the rest of us. I’ve seen way too much crime happened in the last 2 or 3 years to say it’s just a fad or understandable or that it’s always been going on. It’s reaching critical levels now. Can’t keep our heads in the sand.
people may be fearful but I’m not sure that it’s backed up by data. Violent crime in the USA peaked in the early 1990s and murder rates are nearly as low as they’ve been in my lifetime. There’s been an increase since COVID but they’re still low compared to recent historical measures.

Monument adjacent.
Bad people lurking down there.
Thanks for alert. Wondered what was happening.
You betcha!
What a tragedy and a nightmare for his family. I live blocks from the park. Very unsettling. Hopefully law enforcement can get this solved quickly. RIP.
Any updates?
