Those of you unlucky enough to be out in it and perhaps caught in resultant traffic jams know it was bad on local roads Saturday. Our surprise rainfall made things particularly slick.
A fiery crash in San Ramon marked the end of a short but speedy attempt to elude police, a car topping 110mph colliding with several other vehicles on the Alcosta Boulevard off-ramp and bursting into flame at 6:18 p.m. – two occupants fleeing into the nearby Gateway Shopping Center. The resulting investigation and firefighting effort tied up traffic on southbound I680 for some time.
A short time later, at 8:23 p.m., motorists reported a collision on eastbound Highway 24 at Acalanes in Lafayette, several excited callers reporting heavy damage to a BMW in the area. Firefighters located the wreckage and transported the driver to John Muir Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The crash pushed traffic back onto Highway 24 until all lanes were eventually reopened at 9:35 p.m.
Racing?
Slick roads and high speeds right?
Agreed…
That was a Beemer? Looked really beat up when we rolled by.
Who takes your pictures?
Last night it was Sean McDonough, one of a small squad of shooters we’re lucky enough to work with. And then there’s the readership, who frequently send us their work.
MacDonogh is good.
We agree.

Ok but it’s going to be quiet through Christmas right?
Hmm? Um, er, sure!
