Fairfield Man Arrested For Walnut Creek Robberies

Investigators with the Walnut Creek Police Department Investigations Bureau arrested a Fairfield man in connection with two recent robberies in downtown Walnut Creek.

Police reported the arrest of Malcolm Hale (age not provided) in connection with the Nov. 3 robbery of a man at a Burger King in the 1700 block of N. Broadway and a Nov. 8 robbery outside the Autopia Car Wash in the 2100 block of N. Main Street.

Wallets, jewelry, and a purse were taken in those crimes.

Hale was reportedly arrested Nov. 10. A search and arrest warrant executed at his home in Fairfield led to the recovery of an AR-15 assault-style rifle. Hale was arrested for three weapons violations and two robbery charges.

He was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for the following charges with a bail of $600,000:

• Two counts of PC 211 – Robbery
• Two counts for PC 182(A)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
• PC 30305 (A) – Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon
• PC 30305 (A)(1) – Prohibited from owning Ammunition
• PC 29800 (A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
