This morning (7/2/23) at about 1:54am, CHP Contra Costa was advised of a solo vehicle crash on southbound SR-242 at Concord Avenue.
A blue Nissan Sentra, with two occupants, was traveling southbound on SR-242 when it struck the guardrail of the Concord Avenue off-ramp. During the crash sequence, the right front passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
CHP and emergency personnel arrived on scene and the driver was pronounced deceased. The passenger sustained major injuries from the crash and was transported to the hospital.
