Two men – both believed to have been in their 20s and from San Ramon – were killed in an explosive crash on Dougherty Road at Fall Creek near the San Ramon/Dublin border Tuesday night.

The pair were identified as brothers Adam Rasheed, 25, and Khaleed Rasheed, 23, both of San Ramon.

The crash was reported at 10:24 p.m. Officers from both counties responded, arriving to find a severely damaged BMW M3 on fire with one person ejected and another still in the wreckage.

Officers surmised the car was traveling at a high yet still undetermined rate of speed with Adam Rasheed behind the wheel when it left the road and hit a tree and light pole, splitting the vehicle in half.

The crash was ultimately located in Alameda County, just south of San Ramon city limits.

Dougherty Road and Fall Creek Road is closed in all directions with restrictions in place for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
