One person died in a three-car crash on eastbound SR4 east of I680 in Concord Thursday, crews working to extricate one of the injured parties before taking them to a local hospital.
The crash was reported at approximately 5:50pm when CHP Contra Costa was advised that a grey Toyota Highlander had collided with a silver Toyota Camry stopped for traffic. The primary crash drove the Camry into a concrete center divide and continued to collide with a Gray Mazda 3, which was also stopped for traffic.
The driver of the Camry was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger of the Highlander sustained suspected minor injuries. The driver of the Mazda 3 was not injured.
