As we noted at the time, three Dublin teens made their way onto the Cal High campus Monday, pushed past a math teacher and assaulted a student in class as classmates scattered. The trio eventually left campus and have subsequently been identified, but the incident was – of course – filmed by a student with a cell phone and has been widely published on local social media.
An initial investigation found that Cal High students helped the intruders gain access to the campus, the targeted classroom and student during a rocky week for local schools.
“We are extremely dismayed that some of our own students allegedly helped the perpetrators enter the Cal High campus without permission,” SRVUSD officials said in a statement. “We express our gratitude to the staff member in the classroom who intervened.”
School district officials, students and parents expressed dismay over the breach after a week marked by campus fights, swatting calls, and other incidents.
Dublin Police Services assisted San Ramon police in identifying the trio, one of whom is reportedly still on probation in Alameda County.
One suspect is on probation out of Alameda County, according to SRPD.
District officials said they are working to identify the students suspected of letting the Dublin teens onto campus and are planning additional future security measures.
“We want to assure our community that we are also investigating and actions will be taken based on facts and the law,” SRVUSD officials said in a statement. “We are exploring all disciplinary options for the students involved in this incident.”
