Walnut Creek Heats Up Saturday Night

First, residents spotted an aspiring burglar on Camino Verde and called police, officers calling out the troops to locate him – requesting the sheriff’s helicopter orbit the area. The whirlybird was called off to assist with another assignment but, almost unbelievably, returned almost to the location of their original search to assist with stopping a fleeing carjacking vehicle.

The car in question was finally brought to a stop – along with all other nearby traffic – on westbound Highway 24, where California Highway Patrol officers moved in to make the arrest.
