One person was killed in a three-car crash on westbound SR-4, east of Pine Street, early Wednesday.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:17 a.m. after a Ford hatchback traveling westbound collided with the center divide, leaving the vehicle disabled in traffic lanes.
A Lexus SUV, with one occupant, was also traveling on westbound SR-4 when it collided with the disabled Ford, according to CHP investigators. Shortly after the secondary crash a Toyota SUV traveling on westbound SR-4, with one occupant, also collided with the disabled Ford.
The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the CHP. The drivers of the Lexus and Toyota were not injured. This crash is still under investigation.
Those secondary crashes…hitting the immobilized vehicle…those are often the worst.
Sadly true, James…
