Danville Town Offices and Police Department to Relocate November 15
Offices move next door to 500 La Gonda Way after more than 37 years.

DANVILLE, Calif. (November 4, 2022): The main Danville Town Offices will relocate from 510 La Gonda Way to 500 La Gonda Way November 15. Due to the proximity of the new building, the town offices will only be closed November 14 to accommodate relocating town staff. The closure includes Town services in the Permit Center, Planning, Engineering, Transportation and Building Division. Police officers and personnel have already relocated and will remain open during the move of the Town offices, allowing for seamless service to the community.

The Town acquired the 2.7-acre property in December 2019 at a cost of $12.5 million. The property at the corner of La Gonda Way and El Cerro Boulevard included a 38,161 square foot office building and 11,932 square feet of unfinished space, previously slated for use as a theater. The unfinished space has been converted for use by the Town Police Department, which will be housed in approximately 18,000 square feet of space. The Town Offices will occupy 20,000 square feet on the ground floor of the office building. Current tenants of the Danville Financial Center will occupy 18,161 square feet on the top floor.

“Our current offices were built in 1973, and acquired by the Town shortly after incorporation,” said Joe Calabrigo, Danville Town Manager. “It was intended as an interim location, and as Town services have expanded over the past 40 years, the current space is crowded and in need of renovation. The move allows the Town to relocate to a newer, larger, and permanent location and eliminates the need to retrofit and upgrade a 50-year-old building.”

The new location includes the Danville Police Department, the Town Permit Center, Development Services (Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, Engineering and Transportation), Administrative Services (Finance, Human Resources and IT), and General Government (Town Council, Town Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, Business and Economic Development and Community Outreach).

The Town Offices will be closed November 14, and will reopen on November 15 at 500 La Gonda Way for regular business hours (Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. -1 p.m.). The Town is planning an open house for January and will share more information once a date has been selected.
