A 17 year old Concord resident is in custody at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall Monday, facing charges of attempted homicide after a teen party fueled by attendees lured by social media went awry.

On Sunday, October 16, Walnut Creek police detectives, with the assistance of the Contra Costa Central County SWAT Team, served an arrest warrant at the juvenile suspect’s residence in Concord in connection with a shooting in the 2700 block of Hutchinson Court in Walnut Creek Saturday.

Police said one person of undisclosed age reported to John Muir Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound shortly after gunfire broke out Saturday, apparently after shots were fired in the direction of the party-goers after a disagreement.

Police characterized the crime as an isolated incident between two involved parties.

Investigators did not say what prompted the shooting.
