Three-Alarm Fire In Martinez Thursday

Firefighters on the scene of a 3-alarm, 17-acre vegetation fire smoldering in the area of Pacheco Boulevard and Arthur.

Con Fire is asking that people avoid the area. Containment of the northernmost flank of the blaze was made at approximately 4:40 p.m. and water drops were underway.

Investigators determined fire began in or near a nearby homeless encampment.
