Lightning Bolt Suspect In Morning Concord Fire, Outages

News24/680 lensman Craig Cannon – who runs on coffee, adrenaline, and the occasional maple bar – was out and about this morning when a lightning bolt cracked over Concord, a smoke plume went up and PG&E trucks began to roll.

An apparently abandoned residence in the 5500 block of Pine Hollow Road caught fire and outages were reported along Iowa and Olive Drive and down to Concord Avenue – causing backups and traffic delays as signals were knocked out.

All in all a busy morning for Con Fire and PG&E repair crews. And Craig…

    Wow. Sky was really grey and threatening — not far from Crystal Ranch and pretty close to Pine Hollow Middle School.
