One person was found dead inside the wreckage of a car found submerged at the end of a boat ramp at the Martinez Marina early Friday.
A diver located the victim at approximately 2 p.m. Crews winched the vehicle out of the water and prepared a search for additional victims. No others were found as of this writing (2:42 a.m.)
A witness reported the sound of a car splashing into the water near the ramp shortly before midnight and notified authorities, who arrived and initiated a surface search for a potential victim.
When a driver could not be located Con Fire crews brought out an aerial ladder truck to help illuminate the scene while a diver prepared for an underwater search of the vehicle, discovering a person, believed to be a woman, inside at that time.
No other victims were located.
