Days after a crew of hammer-wielding thieves blitzed a Sunvalley jewelry store, police in Fairfield announce arrests made after a similar attempt at a jewelry store at the Solano Town Center Mall Wednesday afternoon.
At around 2:10 pm, Fairfield Police Department Dispatch received calls regarding individuals entering the store and using bats and hammers to break the glass counter tops to steal jewelry. The suspects then fled the area. No one was injured during the incident, according to police.
Fairfield’s Investigation Division was dispatched to the scene and took over the case, eventually locating a suspect vehicle in Antioch. Investigators arrested 19 year-old Dominick Desouza from Antioch and booked him into the Solano County Jail on robbery charges. A 16 year-old male and 17 year-old male were also booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall, according to police.
Investigators were able to recover $50,000 worth of stolen jewelry. Although markedly similar to Monday’s incident at Sunvalley, police have not yet drawn a link between the two crimes. The case remains under investigation.
