Firefighters responded to reports of fire at a home on Edmund Court in Walnut Creek Monday, arriving to find the single-story residence heavily involved in flames and a resident isolated in the backyard.
Crews set up to fight the fire while extracting the unidentified resident, who was not believed to have been injured.
The blaze was reported at 8:22 a.m. and under control within a half hour. The cause of the blaze was not given.
