Police Interrupt Reported Assault On Pleasant Hill Road In Lafayette Sunday

A relatively quiet Sunday morning in the 24/680 was interrupted by some phone calls from readers concerned about a scene developing on Pleasant Hill Road just after the westbound 24 offramp (almost to the Shell station.)

Turned out a man was seen beating on someone in a car (seen at far left with the trunk up and no police markings!) and the assault was spilling out into the roadway. The police were called and the result is as you see, captured by local Gint Federas as he was motoring around town, with the alleged assailant detained at gunpoint by police who pounced swiftly.

Believe the person allegedly being abused was okay.

Wish there were a way for the survivor to know their community cares about them. Glad that people called for help.
