A pedestrian crossing Dublin Boulevard near Hansen Drive was struck and killed by a passing car Monday, according to Dublin police.

The unidentified male victim was struck at 9:10 a.m. while crossing north on the boulevard, investigators said. He was hit by a vehicle turning east onto the boulevard from Hansen Drive, although police declined to say if he was hit inside or outside of the crosswalk.

Police and firefighters rendered life-saving aid but the victim was ultimately declared deceased at the scene. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

At this time, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been a factor in the collision.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed it can contact Dublin Police Services at 925-833-6670.
