ORIGINAL: Police are searching for a crew of robbery suspects who robbed and assaulted a local man Wednesday night, shooting him after he gave chase in a futile effort to retrieve his belongings from their getaway car.
Dublin police responding to reports of a robbery and shooting on Clifden Court found a 60-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim told officers that upon returning home around 7:30 p.m. he was approached by three men who demanded his belongings.
The victim told police a struggle ensued, during which time he was beaten and his belongings forcibly taken. Giving chase, he told officers he was shot when he reached into the getaway car to retrieve his things.
A police search failed to turn up any sign of the suspects. Their victim was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery, but is expected to recover from his wound.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
No description of the perps?
None given.
What description is still needed,? There’s a picture posted of the perpetrator right in the article. And only 19 years old! I bet this is his hundredth offense though….. They starting early and young now with the current laws that are in place. I guess the 17-year-old that was with him was just in training.
Question preceded publication of the image, which came in earlier today…
He knew the answer to his own question. He’s making his point.
Ah. Sometimes this stuff slides by right over our heads…
Tied to the rise in Oakland carjackings in my opinion. I think we have crews of bad guys venturing out into the burbias.
Hope he’s okay.
Bye Bye Roy. Nice police work. Hope the victim pulled the perps out of the line up and they were too stupid to lose the gun that was used on the victim for a nice open and shut case.
