At about 7:51 a.m. Friday, a sharp-eyed Lafayette police officer spotted a car allegedly stolen and involved in a felony evading incident yesterday as the car was running east on Highway 24.

The officer trailed the car into Lafayette, where the driver reversed course at Pleasant Hill Road and began running at high speed westbound on Highway 24, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Police terminated the pursuit but later found the vehicle parked on Shakespeare Theater Way in Orinda, outside Bruns Amphitheater. Lee said officers found two juveniles in the car and detained them both. The investigation into the incident is continuing, according to Lee.
