A man suspected of attempting to enter a home at Nephi Court and Moraga Road this evening was apparently scared off by a resident and eventually arrested – after a struggle and dog bite – in Lafayette.

The unnamed suspect is being treated for a bite, possibly inflicted by Lafayette’s newest K9 officer, Rocco, (Pictured) though we are not certain of his involvement.

What we do know is that a masked man, dressed in dark clothing and wearing a backpack, was spotted allegedly attempting to open doors in the area of Nephi Court and fled down to 901 Moraga Road when spotted.

Officers attempting to contact the individual reportedly found themselves in a struggle with the suspect which ended when supporting officers – and apparently the police K9 – arrived on the scene.

The incident began shortly after 8 p.m. Friday and is still being sorted out by police. We’ll update this story with additional information as we get it.
