Pleasanton police Tuesday arrested two people – one a juvenile – in connection with the April 15 stabbing death of Jackson Reese Butler, 19, of Pleasanton.

Butler was stabbed in the parking lot of the Hyatt House Hotel in Pleasanton.

On Tuesday, members of the Pleasanton Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit served search and arrest warrants in Pleasanton and the City of Dublin.

Police arrested two suspects, one a 17-year-old juvenile arrested for charges of Robbery and Conspiracy who was ultimately booked at Alameda County Juvenile Hall.

The second suspect was identified as 19-year-old Isaiah Joseph Howard, who was arrested for Accessory to Murder and Concealment/Destruction of Evidence. Howard was booked at Santa Rita Jail, according to police.

Investigators said Butler was staying at the hotel and went out to the parking lot to meet with persons unknown on the night of his murder. An altercation ensued and Butler was stabbed several times, according to police. Detectives are investigating the possibility of drug sales activity, but this motive has not yet been confirmed.
