Walnut Creek Police Investigating Shooting Incident Monday

SHARE

Walnut Creek police were called to an area in the 1500 block of Riviera Avenue after neighbors reported hearing shots and saw a man running from the area holding his hand over an apparent gunshot wound.

Soon after that report, a man self-admitted himself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

We have no further information at this time as police are just sealing off the area (6:20 p.m.).

    • Great grandad, who rode after Black Bart and others, wore his in a cross draw brace. Pointing his Colts at his privates would have been unthinkable.

  1. The Danielle’s are back, people are pathetically arguing on Facebook about gun laws and headlines, and I hope this gentleman is okay. I thought today was a holiday…

    • Ha! We do have a number of Danielles and they are all welcome as long as things stay civil. And we prefer constructive arguing to pathetic argument but we’ve been faced with several touchy topics of late. And we have learned: There’s no such thing as a Holiday.

  2. Husband just drove by the 7-11 on N civic and saw cops running and LOTS of cop cars. Near the Brio condos. Related?

  3. I used to live at 1555 Riv. Bet the expensive co do owners next door are thrilled. THIS is what happens when you build 2 Section 8 projects on either end of Riviera and and continue to make what used to be a charming, safe little town into high-density progressive s-hole just like Oakland (I’m a native) and SF. Tent cities are coming to 94596. #recallnewsom

    • From the Riviera Family Apartments website “Eighteen (18) units are assisted by Section 8 Project-Based Vouchers administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (HACCC).”

Just look at what Antioch has become to see what section 8 housing will do to a city.. is Walnut Creek next?
