One Killed In Camino Tassajara Crash Late Friday

One person was killed after losing control of his BMW and crashing into a tree on Camino Tassajara at Charbray around 11:32 p.m. Friday night.

Neighbors said they heard the sound of an engine revving followed by a “thunderous” crash as the vehicle wrapped around a tree at that location, trapping the driver inside.

Emergency personnel worked for more than an hour to free the so-far unidentified driver, who was taken by air ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was declared deceased early Saturday morning.

Evidence of alcohol use was found in the car but California Highway Patrol investigators have not yet said if its use contributed to the crash.
