UPDATE: (3:15 p.m.) The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office reports that this situation has been resolved. Three people have been taken into custody and a pellet gun recovered. Incident remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL POST: Several police jurisdictions responded to reports of an armed man or men at a home on San Pablo Dam Road Tuesday, officers closing a stretch of the roadway between May and Valley View roads as they maneuvered to extract the suspects from the targeted home.
Several people were detained as county sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers moved to secure the scene. We were unable to confirm reports that homes on either side of a residence where the suspects were believed to have been holed up had been evacuated.
No shots had been fired and no injuries were reported as of this writing (1:30 p.m.) but San Pablo Dam Road does remain closed to through traffic with police recommending travelers take alternate routes.
