A driver transitioning from Pleasant Hill Road to northbound Taylor Boulevard lost control and struck a tree in the median a little after 4 p.m. Monday.
Emergency responders got the call for help at 4:11 p.m. The driver was trapped in the wreckage and needed to be extricated by firefighters.
There was no immediate word on the driver’s condition though they were transported to a local hospital.
Looks like a bad one. Hope driver ok. It gets pretty speedy in there.
Unfortunately very common to see crashes in that area. Hoping the person injured recovers swiftly.
That doesn’t look good at all. Have there been a lot of crashes in that area?
Going north, Pleasant Hill Rd merges onto Taylor from the far left lane of Taylor. You have to be going the correct speed and make sure that there’s room to come over. There are two issues: (1) drivers merging onto Taylor often don’t yield, and just assume the oncoming traffic (which has the right of way) will just “move”; and (2) drivers on Taylor who either don’t see, or don’t realize, traffic is merging from the left side of the road. Not a great design for a road, no doubt to become worse as additional homes are completed on Taylor just before the merge. Add to that a ridiculous drop in speed from 55 to 35, and you have a recipe for accidents.
