UPDATE: The northbound lanes of Pleasant Hill Road were reopened at 4:50 p.m.

ORIGINAL POST: Lafayette police – with some help supplied from neighboring jurisdictions – are fighting to untangle a massive traffic jam on Pleasant Hill Road at Rancho View after a truck stalled there blocking lanes in both directions.

Several officers are on the scene, attempting to get hopelessly stuck driver turned around and onto functioning side roads. Traffic is effectively stacked up back to Mt. Diablo Blvd and into Pleasant Hill.

If you planned on using Pleasant Hill Road – don’t.

  1. If things get any worse around here we’ll be forced to become pedestrian friendly — we won’t be able to move our cars.

  2. I say we build a bunch more houses and condos down on pleasant hill and deer hill and stand back and watch the fun.
