As first reported on our Facebook Page at the time, two Alamo-area residents were involved in an early-morning Mothers Day crash on Green Valley Road Sunday, a female passenger sustaining serious injuries to her legs when the car overturned. The car’s driver was later arrested and charged with felony Driving Under the Influence.
Officer Brandon Correia said Tuesday the accident was reported at 12:54 a.m. Sunday on Green Valley Road north of Stone Valley in an unincorporated portion of the county. Danville police arrived to render immediate assistance but control of the scene was assumed by the California Highway Patrol.
Correia said officers arrived to find a black BMW435i on its side, scorched by fire, with a man and woman outside the car. A CHP helicopter was summoned to search for possible additional victims due to the hour and conditions at the crash scene, Correia said, but it was ultimately determined only two people were in the car at the time of the incident.
The driver, identified as Tyler Jensen, 33, was subsequently arrested and booked on felony DUI charges, Correia said, based on the extent of injuries to his passenger – who was transported to John Muir Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
