A San Ramon woman suffered facial burns while attempting to extinguish a blaze that broke out to the rear of her home on Ladera Corte Friday.
San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Fire Chief Paige Meyer said the fire was reported at 11:47 a.m. and was largely contained by 12:21 p.m. though crews were still conducting salvage operations at the home – a duplex residence.
Meyer said the resident was apparently injured while trying to put out the fire, which originated to the rear of her residence and which was burning vigorously when firefighters arrived.
A CalStar rescue helicopter was requested to transport the victim to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The extent of her injuries could not be immediately determined.
The cause of the fire has also not yet been determined.
Hope she is ok. Lots of sirens today!
Too hot to be fighting a fire today.
Hope she’s getting better. Lots of smoke out there today.
