Two people were arrested in Walnut Creek Wednesday after allegedly stealing packages from local homes, according to WCPD.
Walnut Creek resident Craig Lancaster and Martinez resident Shawna Byars were arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Walnut Creek police.
At 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, a resident spotted a suspicious-looking green 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck parked in front of her residence with two people inside opening packages, police said.
When the occupants of the truck realized they were being watched they quickly drove away, according to police, but the citizen was able to record the truck’s license plate number and give it to officers.
Police located the truck as it was leaving the area, made a traffic stop and contacted Lancaster and Byars, who were in possession of stolen packages from four residences in the Walnut Creek area, police said.
Both were also allegedly in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
They don’t look too bugged about being busted. I’d be crying for my mom.
They are parked outside of the house they have just stolen from going through packages?
They don’t look like tweakers….glad they got popped though…
