Santa’s on his way and he’s making his list and checking it twice so, be good girls and boys and bring your family to our “Holiday” Open House & Train “Show”. Plus, the circus is “in town”. Watch our Circus Train as it travels around the countryside bringing the exotic animals to the fairgrounds in “Olympia Park”. Our permanent H.O. scale layout, housed in the only commercial building in the entire state built especially for a model railroad layout, is one of the most mountainous in the United States, with over 4,300 feet of track covering an area of 1,900 square feet and rising to an elevation of over four feet.
Visit the towns of “Port Allen”, with its busy seaport, naval ships and operating bascule bridge, “Olympia” to view operations of the electric over-head wire trolley system, “Mallard” where, in days long past, the ferry “Ramon” would convey trains of the Sacramento-Northern across the Strait, and “Thompson Flat” to view our narrow gauge railway as it climbs to the lower terminus of the cog “Alpine Railway”. We are located in Larkey Park, within a short walk of the Lindsay Wildlife Experience and opposite the public swimming pool, in wonderful Walnut Creek.
