    Pleasant Hill, CA – In celebration of Diablo Valley College’s (DVC) 75th anniversary, the DVC Foundation and the DVC Alumni Association are thrilled to announce a special event, “Resilience and Triumph: An Evening with Best-Selling Author Daniel James Brown,” on Friday, October 25th at 7:00 PM in the Forum Auditorium at Diablo Valley College.

     

    Daniel James Brown, acclaimed author of the best-selling books “The Boys in the Boat” and “Facing the Mountain,” will share his inspiring journey from a DVC student to a celebrated writer. Brown’s stories are powerful testaments to resilience, teamwork, and triumph over adversity, making this an event not to be missed.

    About Daniel James Brown:

    Daniel James Brown is the author of “The Boys in the Boat,” which tells the true story of the University of Washington’s 1936 eight-oar crew and their epic quest for an Olympic gold medal. His latest book, “Facing the Mountain,” highlights the bravery and sacrifice of Japanese American soldiers during World War II. “It’s not a story about victims. Rather it’s a story of victors, of people striving, resisting, rising up, standing on principle, laying down their lives, enduring and prevailing,” says Daniel James Brown.
