The 15th annual event highlights the many activities and programs offered by the Town

DANVILLE, Calif. (January 21, 2025): Get an inside look at the Town of Danville Recreation, Arts, & Community Services classes and programs at the 15th annual Recreation Expo & Open House on Saturday, February 8. The football-themed, family-friendly event will take place across three Town facilities between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., presenting a variety of activities happening this spring and summer as well as programs offered daily.

With many parents already looking ahead to spring and summer break, a variety of contract class instructors and Town staff will showcase upcoming camps and classes. Kids and adults can get a taste of the fun with themed activities across three sites. Instructors will be on hand to answer questions and help the community learn more about the programs offered, such as swim lessons, summer day camps, and youth, adult and senior activities in areas such as art, cooking, fitness, foreign languages and more.

To provide the community with a better overview of all programs, the event will be spread among three locations, with different activities at each site:

Danville Community Center, 420 Front Street
Village Theatre & Art Gallery, 233 Front Street
Danville Senior Center, 115 E. Prospect Avenue

Through visiting all three sites, visitors will get an opportunity to participate in a few popular activities, including kicking a field goal at the Danville Community Center; creating sports bloopers at the Village Theatre; and the football hula hoop challenge at the Danville Senior Center.

Activities for all ages and interests will be covered over the three sites, which are within less than 5 minutes walking distance. Attendees are encouraged to start at the Danville Community Center, then walk to the Village Theatre & Art Gallery, then along to the Danville Senior Center.

This multi-faceted event will give guests the opportunity to start planning for summer. The Recreation, Arts & Community Services mascot, Auggie the Acorn, will be there to host an adventure scavenger hunt. Guests who complete the scavenger hunt can turn their completed scavenger hunt card in at the Danville Senior Center where they can spin the prize wheel for a chance to win priority registration, free special event registration and more!

Spring Activity Guides with summer camp information will be mailed to Danville, Alamo and Diablo residents beginning late January, and will be available online at www.danville.ca.gov/activityguide. Registration for spring programs, summer camps and aquatics begins February 11 for Danville residents. Open registration will begin on February 18. To prepare, please update your registration account at www.danville.ca.gov/recguide.
