Contra Costa residents can get their county business done and enjoy a night of food, fun, and community at the annual Contra Costa County Block Party, happening Thursday, Aug. 28, from 4–7 p.m. at the Antioch Community Center, 4703 Lone Tree Way.
Hosted in collaboration with District 3 Supervisor Diane Burgis and the City of Antioch, this free, family friendly event makes it easy for community members to connect with County and City staff, get support for important tasks, and enjoy an evening of activities, food, and entertainment.
The Block Party offers services outside of regular business hours, including voter registration, obtaining copies of vital records, and applying for programs such as Veterans Benefits, CalFresh, and Medi-Cal.
Guests can explore on-the-spot services and resources from departments such as Contra Costa Health, Employment and Human Services, Clerk-Recorder-Elections, Public Works, and Animal Services—plus many more. Families can climb aboard a Contra Costa Fire truck for photos, and food trucks will have meals and treats available for purchase. Parking is free.
Since its launch in 2017, the Contra Costa County Block Party has become a popular annual tradition, rotating to different locations each year to increase access to services and build stronger connections with communities across the County. This year marks the event’s seventh year of bringing resources, staff, and neighbors together.
