Backlash Over CEO’s Murder
To the Editor; While police continue their search for Brian Thompson’s murderer, America’s C-suite scrambles to erase corporate profiles and seek out private protection companies, reading public sentiment and finding that – lo and behold – Americans are tired of these companies and their millionaire executives ripping them off. It is possible this killer left…
Letters: Politicization Of The Laken Riley Case
To The Editor; I can think of no more shameful act than to try and make political hay out of a person’s murder – but that is what is happening in regard to the truly heartbreaking taking of Georgia college student Laken Riley’s life. For those not in the know Laken was 22, an Augusta…
Letters: The Satire Strikes Back
To The Editor; I just wanted to take a moment to luxuriate in the delicious irony that came with news that rotund gasbag Alex “I’ll Say Anything for Money” Jones has lost his mechanism of disinformation – Infowars – to the satirical news publication The Onion. The sweet flush of satisfaction I was beginning to…
Letters: Blower Creep In Lafayette
To the Editor; To the surprise of virtually no one apparently we have noted a return to public use of gas powered leaf blowers in Lafayette despite the city’s much publicized ban. Months after the ban we were surprised and yes angered to see a return of backpack blowers in use again, apparently by workers…
Letters: Blood On The Pickleball Court – Politics Alive In Rossmoor
To the Editor; After much talk in the community itself I was heartened to see coverage of rising political tensions in supposedly sedate Rossmoor. With several friends in residence we were aware that the Over-55 community has grown miles apart from the placid, carefully mown facade its association works to project and protect, two residents…
Letter: “Why The Secrecy?”
To the Editor: I have to admit….it bothers me! Why do the local police fail to keep the local populace informed about important matters that have occurred in our area? In the wake of the recent tragic Orinda “Road Rage” shooting, we have only learned (officially) who the deceased is, but not the identity of…
LETTERS: Rise Of The E-Bikes; DNC “Cool Kids,” And The Encampments
Rise Of The E-Bikes Dear Editor; I have learned to trust your instincts and observations of daily life and I confess my interest was peaked when you predicted an increase in the use of electric bicycles and associated problems with their use. While I see the benefit behind their design I’ve had someone run one…
LETTERS: When “Long Life” Becomes A Curse
Editor; You once referenced construction of a Senior Ranch for like minded adults who had outlived family and friends and who preferred an active outdoor lifestyle as opposed to time in a senior care facility. Have you made any progress in this direction? I have no children and no family left. My closest friends have…
Letters: I Love My Garden – But Is It Worth The Effort?
To the Editor; I write in hope of connecting with other suburban farmers who bought into the gabble of Youtube influencers and spent a small fortune on tools, seeds, fencing and water in the remote hope of producing enough fresh vegetables to cover a small garden salad. I’ve heard you go on at length about…
Letter: So Much Riding On November Election
To The Editor; As children of European immigrants who regarded America as a beacon of hope and light, my husband and I have grown increasingly concerned with the current state of politics in our chosen homeland. For months we have watched what we believe to be a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement return…
