A nasty looking rollover crash sheared a power pole at Ygnacio Valley Road and San Carlos at the base and snarled traffic in the area and for much of the city, as a result. The car’s driver, however, walked away from the crash without a scratch.
The driver told News24/680 she was trying to make the turn onto Ygnacio when she struck the pole, shearing it off at the base and leaving power lines dangling.
Traffic in the area immediately began to stack up with drivers diverting onto nearby streets and further impacting the morning commute after the crash was reported at 6:36am.
The driver was uninjured and caught a ride with a News24/680 photographer after talking with police. 
“Trying to make a left hand turn”…really?
Maybe “exactly how fast were you going” and “were you running a red light”? Someone just making a left hand turn does not end up taking out a power pole and flipping completely over.
We’ll start beating confessions out of folks in future. We didn’t think that was part of our brief…

Driver left without a scratch but meanwhile tens of thousands of people were severely inconvenienced by her misjudgment. Events canceled, late and missed appointments, on the road for literally hours sitting in standstill traffic. She should have been taken into the station to be questioned, charged with reckless driving at the very least and have been tested for sobriety or drug use. Unbelievable.

… from the photo I’m surprised how close the police officer is standing with his patrol car for a pole that was just sheared off and leaning his way!
Ridiculous – person should not be on the road if they can’t make a simple left turn in marked lanes. Thousands inconvenienced and schools without power nearby. This person should receive a citation at a minimum.
