Out-Of-State Driver Leads Walnut Creek PD On Brief Chase Monday

An apparently out of state driver briefly eluded Walnut Creek police before crashing Monday.

A driver sporting Oregon license plates caught the attention of a passing Walnut Creek police officer Monday and then allegedly sped away when he attempted to pull her over for a traffic infraction, leading to a short chase and ultimately a crash on Atri Court.

The driver allegedly sped through at least one traffic light and took evasive action before crashing into a culvert on Atri at approximately 9:20 a.m. Apparently uninjured, she was quickly taken into custody by police.

Fleeing down a throughfare with “NO OUTLET” signage prominently displayed. Poor decision-making to say the least. Glad to hear there were no reports of injury.
