Helluva week around these parts and further abroad. Like many of you, we’re hanging on and waiting for the compass to re-align.

This seemed to sum things up nicely.

  1. Strange times, Strange Days, calls for some music by The Doors!
Life. Liberty. The Pursuit of Happiness. Nothing given is free and everlasting.
We (my perspective is poor White American) Baby Boomers tend to understand the horrific sacrifice that brought us OUR MOMENT of glorious freedom from world violence and want, but that moment has passed. The future is not ours to write. May y’all make it a better one and stop re-enacting the last 20,000 years of human history.

  2. Here is what someone was quoted as saying to another news organization today:

“That is a big concern with having two teenagers of my own and one still in elementary,” he said. “You think, if they’re out hanging with their friends… they could be influenced. Especially when you’re talking about being on a bridge… falling through a crack.”

D’Alo said she hopes the tragedy sends a message to teens about the risks involved in participating in illegal sideshows.

“I feel like we’re in the Wild Wild West here,” she said. “Kids: it’s not worth it when you lose your life. Please get yourself involved in good things.”

It is The Wild West Out There and the California liberals are not going to take care of you.

    • Jeff…you are not making things any better with that last statement. Who is it thats trying to keep medicaid for the disabled..who has worked to get sensible gun controls? Those things do take care of us. Stop all the finger pointing in one direction…

      • The disabled will keep their Medicaid, healthy individuals may lose it. I’m for sensible gun laws, California has gone to far.

        • As the parent of a severely disabled adult son and advocate for him… I can assure you the bill that passed will effect the disabled & elderly in many ways over the next 10 years. Medicaid does much more than pay for healthcare.. it helps the disabled stay in their home and helps to fund adult day programs…transpotation, home health aides ..among other things. But glad your feeling so optimistic.

  3. I can’t believe what’s happening in this country. Sometimes it feels like I’m sleepwalking through the 1930 times again. I don’t think people know what they’re doing – I know their government doesn’t.
