East Bay Regional Park District police, working in conjunction with Walnut Creek police, arrested a 31-year-old Alamo man following an alleged sexual battery on two trail users walking the Iron Horse Trail in Alamo Sunday.
Both EBRPD police and Walnut Creek officers searched for the suspect after the assault was reported a little after 2 p.m. when two young trail users reported being touched inappropriately by a man passing them on his bicycle. The pair were able to give a description of the cyclist and he was stopped in the 1300 block of N. Main Street.
The suspect was booked on two misdemeanor counts of battery (groping) and released the following day on $5,000 bond.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody by Park District police as the location of the alleged assault was in their jurisdiction.
