E-Bike Siege At Walnut Creek Safeway

SHARE

This came to us from a concerned reader and it appears to reenforce some stories we’re hearing about e-biker behavior lately. The riders appear to be no more than 14 years old.

Also: Safeway personnel appear upset but constrained, possibly, by some form of corporate ROE (Rules of Engagement)?

Also: As usual, there are instigators and “leaders” among the e-bikers.

Also: Some of them are using some very naughty words.

Also: It looks like one stops to listen to a woman who appears to be asking “Why?” We don’t want to read anything into it, but if you were there, tell us what you saw…

  1. Right about now a mom is calling her kid and saying “Johnny this looks like you. Is that you? Johnny? Johnny?”

  2. It’s horrible. These vehicles are supposed to be on the street, but they’ve taken over sidewalks in northern Walnut Creek. The sidewalks themselves are narrow enough. Add to it these tweens whizzing by in their e-bikes in gangs of four to six, it’s a genuine hazard. Pedestrians are left to jump up against buildings to avoid getting run over.

  3. “We fillied around with other travelers of the night… …playing Hogs of the Road.”

  4. I go to that Safeway. It is a nice store. The employees are kind and work hard. They don’t need this crap from these suburban pubescent punks. Whose children are they?

  5. “Siege” is definitely clickbait. Which of course I bit on just to find out it was at most a major annoyance. Seige? Please.
