A team of light-fingered jewelry thieves apparently at work in the San Ramon Valley struck again Sunday – this time taking an expensive necklace and other jewelry from a woman outside the Danville Trader Joe’s location on Railroad Avenue.
The crime was reported at 10:57am when two people – a man and woman described as “Hispanic” approached the victim outside the store, engaged her in brief conversation and then took the jewelry from around her neck. The couple was last seen driving off in a late-model, white sedan or utility vehicle.
The victim was shaken but uninjured during the encounter.
It should be noted that while victims of similar crimes have also described the thieves as “Hispanic,” subsequent investigation determined the perpetrators to be of other ethnic background.
How many of these have there been?
