UPDATE: A third shaker was recorded at 1:59p.m., measuring 3.6 Magnitude. Like its predecessors, it was epicentered near Hayward.
Original Story
Two fairly sizable earthquakes rumbled through the 24/680 and East Bay just minutes apart on Thursday, doing no lasting damage but firing up our social media forums with personalized accounts.
The Magnitude pros at USGS say a 3.4 Magnitude shaker struck near Hayward at 11:52 a.m. – followed two minutes later with a smaller 3.2 Magnitude version which also attracted attention.
Readers from Berkeley to San Ramon checked in with their impression of the twin shakers, describing them as “good jolts” minutes apart. No immediate reports of damage have been received as this is written.
