Occupants out of this car after a crash near St. Stephens – and a whole bunch of people looking for a brown Pug doggo that came out of the crash and was last seen running east along the shoulder.
Happy UPDATE: Pug recovered, shaken but relatively unhurt. Human driver with lacerations.
Traffic in the area was severely impacted, with a heavy backup and extended travel times.
Curious …does anyone know which type of vehicle that turtle is??
Think it was a Hyundai… but we had to stand off a bit due to location.
I don’t know how these people always seem to lose control on that stretch of road in solo car accidents. You can see by the dirt marks that it looks like they went up on the hillside and then came back down onto the road. There was also similar accident going the opposite direction about an hour later. It was a pickup truck that had gone up on the opposite embankment. It happens every time it rains hard there.
The car may be been on the off-ramp and then lost control, sliding and rolling down the bank onto the freeway. I could see that happening if they take the off ramp too fast and come upon people stopped at the stop sign at the top of that ramp. I put a pin on Google maps at https://maps.app.goo.gl/Au58QH3ApLfD6uMC6 showing about where they would leave the off ramp.
