An elderly woman was pushed to the ground and robbed of her purse by a man outside the Alamo Plaza Rite Aid on Friday, the suspect fleeing the scene in a blue Mazda CX5.
The theft was reported at 1:35 p.m. when the suspect, described only as a masked male of unknown race 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200 pounds with black hair in a “buzz” cut, approached the victim, pushed her down and made off with her purse – which contained her wallet and other personal items.
An ambulance was summoned to treat the victim for unspecified injuries.
Catch him, handcuff him and walk him through a retirement community after handing out baseball bats to residents.
OK big guy. Last time I checked it’s arrested, charged, there’s jail and/or bail and there’s the right to a lawyer and pleas and there’s court and there’s sentencing. That’s the law. Take off your cartoon red hat. The Constitution isn’t dying over that.
Well, we are in Trumpian response mode now. I don’t recall that kind of rhetoric from Anthony before. please correct me if I am mistaken.
And maybe Anthony was just kidding!
Chill, dem dude.
Since when does the law provide for punishment before any judicial proceeding? Just how far are we going backwards? Hundreds of years? Anyone?
Yeah I have to ask: when does the law allow prosecution past the statute of limitations?. Or the many other concocted ways to trip up an opposition political candidate, as was done to Donald Trump. I actually think the population saw through it and it gave him more support.
Had you behaved like Trump (on any number of fronts) you’d be bankrupt and in jail right now. Yes, there is a two-tiered justice system, but he’s way way way on the upside of it. It’s funny (not haha), I see you in here replying to just about every crime story saying “if our justice system didn’t let all these crooks go free this wouldn’t have happened etc etc.” And yet, here you are with “well, I meant crimes other than fraud or sexual assault or mishandling of classified materials or election interference or defamation or sending a mob to attack the Capitol.” Hypocrisy is the greatest luxury.
Since when does the law provide for a judicial hearing? A certain high profile case comes to mind. Hmm? Asking for a friend.
When those old timers beat Haysoos to death, and he happens to be the wrong guy (it happens), how do you take that back?
It happens a lot.
My comment box has been grayed out multiple times today, and not for a minute or two or ten or twenty. The Editor claims it is not personal, but I am being “moderated” by the Editor, so what am I to believe? Who else is experiencing this today?
David, et al –
This is a small site. There aren’t many of us. If one man goes down another has to pick up the work load. And we’re busy with, you know, NEWS.
We are experiencing peak demand and, obviously, our readers expect much from us. Good.
We’re not sure what a “grayed out” comment box is but we’re always willing to learn something new. Know this: LOTS of folks are commenting right now and that’s a good thing. EACH comment must be read and scanned for any number of the things readers/scammers are attempting to get past us these days. If it takes a little time for your comment to appear that’s usually the reason – or you’ve violated our TOS. Let’s hope that’s not the case, we like hearing from you.
Carry on.
fyi, “grayed out” meant unable to reply, unable to participate in any public discussion.
Pardon the repetitive response. The prior has yet to post.
David,
A grayed out submission window is more likely an indication of an issue with your browser or internet connection than being moderated. Moderation on wordpress does not occur PRIOR to submission.
And only 100 feet from the Sheriff office.

There are special penalties for those who commit crimes against the elderly. Let’s hope they are brought into play.
💯
Hopefully we have turned the corner on this type of crime. I agree extra penalties are in order.
With best wishes to the victim. I do agree, the new government and new toughness on crime will go hand to hand. At least two year to prove.

I think it’s safe to assume that people commenting here are concerned and interested in the subject of reducing crime in our community and how to become more aware and prepared.
If you live in Alamo…are you aware that on the first Monday of each month, the Alamo P2B Police Services Committee hosts a meeting that Alamo residents are encouraged to attend? They always have at least one Sheriff’s deputy in attendance who reports on crime stats in Alamo among other things. This is a GREAT way to obtain information directly from the Sheriff’s department and to increase your awareness.
Next meeting is being held on Monday, 12/2 at 5:30pm at The Cottage in Hap Magee Park, 1029 La Gonda Way in Danville.
Good info and thanks but I think people are looking for more immediate information and come here to get it. 🫢
